First of all, President George W. Bush was in Park City last week. He was in town for a few events, and he stayed in Deer Valley. So, several times throughout the week roads were closed for his convoy, and helicopters flew around town. Most didn't think much of it, but I thought it was really cool. Aside from the Oympics, presidents usually don't make their way to Park City - or Utah for that matter. I was a presenter at an awards ceremony at the high school on Friday morning, and I had to be there extremely early, because they were going to close the roads around 7:30 or 8:00 am. Bush was going to travel to his helicopter and then fly to Salt Lake City, and they were landing his helicopter in a field close to the high school. So, I waited outside until he and all his people drove by, and I got to see the president! OK, so technically I did not see him - I didn't even know which black suburban he was in. There were quite a few and they were traveling pretty fast. Then I got to see him fly over in his helicopter. OK, once again, there were three, and they all went different directions - I don't know which one he was in. So, I didn't really get to see him, but it was exciting nonetheless. It doesn't matter if you disagree with his policies or his leadership, he is the president, and it was still quite a show.
The other event that was exciting for me was Sawyer got his first "real" haircut. I have trimmed it a few times, but this was his first official haircut. He and his daddy got cuts on the same day from the same stylist. Sawyer amazed me. He actually sat still and was totally fine with getting his hair cut while playing with a squirt bottle and checking himself out in the mirror. I will be honest and say that I was really sad when it was over. I am sad that his cute "baby" hair is gone. He now has a "little boy" cut and looks older. I'm sad. Rob loves the new cut - I'm just a silly, sentimental mama. He's still a cutie and melts my heart.
There he is....maybe....
There he is on his helicopter...
or there...
maybe in there...
Here's my cute boy getting his haircut.

Those are pretty exciting. The question is: were you sentimental enough to save a bunch of his hair for his baby book?
Of course! They gave us a little card that she signed and dated. I'm pretty sure other people thought we were ridiculous.
I really need your autograph. Can't believe you saw the president of the United States - kinda.
Sawyer looks adorable. What a fine looking young man.
